Jed packed up and moved, to the hills, Beverly Hills that is, Beverly Hills. There’s only one problem, in true life, Jed left and changed with the times, but the mountains remained the same. That “Calvin Mountain “that is, Calvin, Oklahoma. In the year, 2018, that would be today, not 1926 or 1946, as some “Calvin Council Members” and “Good Ole Boys” Club members would like for it to be, just remain frozen in time, never to change, just live in a”Bubble.” The “Good News or Bad News to Some,” anyone may choose to live ,anywhere or anyplace they would like, even though they may not have been born there or raised there. They may even choose Calvin, Oklahoma. There are no special rights or privileges having been born or raised in any particular town or state and consequentially there should not be any bias, prejudice or ill will projected on those “NOT” born or raised in Calvin, Oklahoma who now make it their “HOME. “ The bias, prejudice, and ill will shown to outsiders in Calvin, Oklahoma is outdated and antiquated. People have a right to live in Calvin, Oklahoma from outside the “Bubble”, and make Calvin, Oklahoma their home. The “Special People” concept of life died in the mountains. Calvin local government needs to grow up, join, and allow the freedoms and rights afforded to us all by the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights. Many a man died, many a man served, many a man sacrificed for all of “OUR Freedoms” and “Individual Rights” as Americans. The KKK, Slavery and White Supremacy life styles no longer hold a place in any society, nor in the American way of life within the United States of America. When someone moves to Calvin, Oklahoma, that does not mean they have to “accept” what they find as a way of life within Calvin, Oklahoma. That does not mean they have to “accept” illegal activity in Calvin, Oklahoma. That does not mean they have to “accept” selective biased treatment from the Town itself or of the local Town Government. That does not mean they should “move or be forced to move” as in the mountain days. They should expect to find a common rule or a common set of laws that govern all equally and without malice. They should expect to find a common decency in independent thinking and individual beliefs. They should expect a “RESPECT” for real property ownership as defined in the ‘Bill of Rights” The Town of Calvin “Busy Bodies” and “Town Gossip” may be a way of life in Calvin, Oklahoma, to some, but not all, because “WHOLE” individuals with self-respect , self-worth, and dignity mind their own affairs without forcing their opinions or expressing their opinions without invite. We all will be judged in the end, but not by the Town of Calvin “Busy Bodies.’ or “Special People.” Just because “Special People” do not like something, that does not mean they get to force their will outside the “LAW.” The “LAW” exists for one purpose and one purpose only, so that individuals with different skin color, different beliefs, different life styles, different education levels, and different economic status may attempt to live together in peace.
